What the heck is a P.P.D.?

The Player Performance Database, or P.P.D., will be our first project.  It is designed to:

• Allow objective comparison between and among players from different eras in baseball, based on cutting-edge business intelligence technology
• Allow a common framework for interpreting the impact of steroids on a player over the course of a season and a career
• Define a standard top-flight player metric designed to quantify a player's overall impact on the game and a computer recommendation for the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame
